SHIP CONSTRUCTION HEAVY LIFT BARGE SURREY, BC. This ship construction project required the lengthening of the barge, welding of additional fabricated units to the existing structure, and the installation of a 600 ton lifting capacity crane to the new extension. The first phase of the project commenced in April 2005 for the pre-fabrication of the steel panels at Meridian Marine's workshop. In August, the pre-fabricated panels were delivered to the customer's site where our team of steel fitters and welders worked to complete the installation phase of the project, reaching completion in October 2005.
