I completed my Pipe Fitting Apprenticeship in Scotland
in 1971 and worked for 35 years in the petrochemical, mechanical and ship
repair industries. During those years, I worked on off-shore oil rigs
on the North Sea, Scotland and Stavanger Norway doing pipe repair, reconfiguration,
hook-up, maintenance and shutdowns. In 1993 before immigrating to Canada,
I was involved in the construction, maintenance of on-shore Refineries
and Desalination Plants in the Middle East, Scotland and Western Australia.
After moving to Canada in 1994 I worked as a mechanical pipe fitter
in gold mines in Mongolia, Russia, Yukon and Alaska. I joined Meridian
Marine in 2000 accepting the position as Foreman, of the Piping Fabrication Division
overlooking the quality and procedures of all pipe work.
